Dwarf Fortress Classic is made by Bay 12 Games. It is the free edition of Dwarf Fortress, a single-player fantasy game set in a randomly generated, persistent world with distinct civilisations, centuries of detailed history, towns, caves and wildlife. Command your dwarves as they dig out multi-level fortresses, craft treasures and furniture, trade with neighbours, and defend against hostile civilisations, the dead and creatures of the night. Lay out taverns, libraries, guildhalls and temples, keep your dwarves happy, care for the wounded with surgery and splints, and retire a fortress to revisit later, or play an adventurer and explore the world. The free Classic version, 53.16, is available for Windows and Linux. To support the developers, you can buy the premium edition on Steam or itch.io, or back Bay 12 Games on Patreon.
