Fill a glass orb with sand, water, plants and creatures, then watch your own tiny aquatic ecosystem live and grow. A calm, cosy sandbox in your browser.
Orb.farm is made by Max Bittker. It is a virtual ecosystem where different species of creature live, grow and die as part of a self-contained food chain, and you are invited to nurture, sculpt and observe it. Paint in glass, sand, stone, wood and water, then add algae, grass, bacteria, daphnia, fish and goldfish, while carbon dioxide and oxygen gauges show how your little world is doing. A short tutorial suggests starting with sand and water, and an information page explains the elements and the food chain. It runs in your browser with nothing to install, and its source code is public on GitHub.
