0 A.D. is made by Wildfire Games, an international group of volunteer game developers. It is a real-time strategy game of ancient warfare set in the imaginary year of 0 A.D., where you develop a thriving city, raise an army and contend with rivals for hegemony of the world. Each civilisation is unique in its appearance and gameplay, including units, structures and technology trees. Some infantry and cavalry units can fight, gather resources and construct buildings, and they grow stronger as they gain combat experience. Some technologies come in pairs where you can research only one per game, and random maps are based on the real geography of the ancient world. Release 28, Boiorix, is the first release without the Alpha label and runs on Windows, macOS and Linux. You can support development through the Donate page on the official website.
