An elegant, minimalist roguelike where every item and monster matters. Descend 26 beautifully lit levels to retrieve the Amulet of Yendor.
Brogue: Community Edition is maintained by the Brogue CE team and continues Brogue, the roguelike created by Brian Walker. Graphical tiles are by Antony Boucher, based on Oryx Design Lab's Brogue Tiles. You descend 26 levels of a dungeon to retrieve the Amulet of Yendor, and the game is known for its clean, readable design: there are no character classes or experience levels, so your build comes entirely from the items and allies you find. Lighting, gas, fire and water make each level feel alive, and smart use of the environment often matters more than raw strength. It can be played with classic text symbols or with tiles.
