Roblox Build: a new starting point for AI-assisted creators
Prompt-driven creation is moving closer to players—but iteration and playtesting still decide whether a game is good.

From idea to a first playable
In July 2026, Roblox announced Build, a mobile-first creation experience intended to turn prompts into basic games. The announcement described an initial New Zealand public alpha beginning 28 July, with regional and age restrictions. It also outlined AI-assisted tools shared with Studio and Cube-generated functional objects. This announcement does not establish that every feature is available to every user today.
The creator still has a job
Roblox frames generated output as a starting point to refine, playtest and share. Its announcement says discovery remains tied to player engagement rather than simply rewarding generated volume. That is an important distinction between producing content and producing an experience people choose to return to.
The Oasis take
Try a narrow brief: one environment, one mechanic and one measurable player goal. Ask a friend to play without instructions, then fix the first confusing moment. Keep track of which assets and scripts came from which tools, check permissions and disclose AI assistance clearly. Faster prototypes are useful when they make room for better human decisions. They are not a guarantee of originality, reliable code or commercial readiness. Roblox creation takes place within its own platform; this story does not imply those experiences can be redistributed on The Oasis.
